Back from Vacation

We're back from vacation! We had a great time at the lake. I doubt we will return for the RFGL events as they were unorganized and overpriced but the area that we visited was beautiful and I would love to go back to the lake. The kids loved playing in the sand at the beach, picking blueberries and having lots of playmates around. I just loved the lake. I've never been to a big lake like Lake Michigan and to me it was just like the ocean without the salt water in your eyes. There were a few days of nice waves to play in and plenty of rocks and shells to pick up.

I'm catching up on my blog reading and trying to get all the sand out of the girls hair. We went through a few hairstyles this past week so I'll post some new hair adventure photos soon.

Sounds like fun. We had a vacation planned, but had to cancel for various reasons. I wanted to cancel it, but still...*pout* Lake Michigan sounds nice....
Glad you all had a good one, though. How was it traveling with the kids?

You weren't too far from me. If you ever come this way again, drop me an email! I'm glad you enjoyed it, despite the lack of organization.

I just 'accidented' upon this, and we too were at the RFGL family week, and though we do not have any adopted children, we joined in the discussion hoping to learn, just in case & because we have so many friends who have adopted. I was equally dismayed at the lack of compassion for differences in culture and the needs of a child to these new parents. My partner and I left feeling quite dismayed, and I totally agree, all the activities were poorly organized, and the cost was high, though we LOVED our stay in Saugatuck and hope to visit again soon. Best Wishes - you must be a saint to foster, I had a hard time fostering kittens. I have two biological sons of my own, and I'm 44 so I'm thinking I'm done as well. Cheers from Chicago.
