Saugatuck Getaway

I've been blogging less lately because I've got a new job title. I'm now the "CEO" of Saugatuck Getaway.

Our Lake Michigan vacation rental is up and running after our extensive January renovations & a bit of website building. So if ya have a minute check out the site at www.saugatuckgetaway.com

Tell me what you think! Would you take a vacation there?

That looks like a great vacation spot! In an alternate universe (where I was looking to vacation near Lake Michigan and I had money to blow) I'd totally stay there!

Love it, so beautiful! You did a fabulous job!

You asked for links---The groups I was referring to were specific to SBS and Tube-Feeding. If you think either of these groups could help I would be happy to send you an invite from the group, just LMK!

You have done a GREAT job with the place.

But sadly, I wouldn't stay there. To stay there for a week would cost more than what my house payment is for an entire month...

But it does look beautiful, and if I was a LOT more wealthy, I might think differently.

You've done an incredible job on that house. The furnishings are so appealing! My only suggestion would be to make some weeks taken in your calendar so it doesn't look like it isn't booking - like putting your own first dollar in the tip jar. Reserve some weeks for your family!

It's beautiful! Say, you wouldn't be interested in donating a weekend stay for the annual fundraiser for Adoption Resources of Wisconsin (www.wiadopt.org)? :)

Yep - we would definitely stay there. With four kids the cost of the cabin for a week would be waaaay less than a hotel and boarding our dogs for a week! Is there a ferry across the lake from Wisconsin? Maybe you could put something about that on the website?

Thanks for everyone's comments! Some great advice.

J: we were actually very excited about the prospect of being able to donate weeks for various causes that are close to our hearts....and then found out if we do it actually penalizes us (time is considered personal time and can change how we are able to set up as a business) and the people we donate to (can't write off as a donation to non profit as it is time donated by us & have to charge tax to buyer)

:(

I lived about an hour away from here as a little one and it is a beautiful area. I would absolutely stay there, in fact it would be a great place for a family reunion. We love to stay in rental homes, bed & breakfasts, etc because of the personal attention. One of the things I didn't see, and maybe it wasn't in the pictures, were things like books, games, etc all the things you need on a vacation. I always love looking at what good books are there too read, even if I've brought my own.

Love the photos.
